Even though Blue Truck Ranch is off the beaten path, there are many things to do nearby!

Recreation

Inks Lake State Park: The entrance to the park is just a few miles north of the Blue Truck Ranch’s front gate. (Reminder: do not access the park except through their front gate. Do NOT cross our fence into the park). With a day pass, you can use their boat launch, swim in their swimming area, rent canoes or paddle boats, hike, backpack, geocache, play volleyball, picnic, and observe nature. They have 9 miles of trails to explore through shady forests and across rocky hills. Say “hello!” to the park rangers! Spider Mountain: This place is amazing and perfect for the off road bikers in your family. They have the only “SKI-lift” in the state of Texas that takes rider and bike up the mountain to ride down any of their downhill trails: Itsy Bitsy, Recluse, Sidewinder, Tarantula, and more! 200 Greenwood Hills Trail, Burnet, TX 78611

Longhorn Caverns: Follow Park Rd 4 heading south and take the upper leg to 6211 Park Road 4 S, Burnet, TX to find an amazing adventure for your whole family. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure your preferred tour date and time. Tickets can be purchased online or at the park visitor center.

Inks Dam Fish Hatchery: Just across the street from our front gate, follow Clay Young Rd to the front gate of the Fish Hatchery. This is a great afternoon adventure in wildlife, wildflowers and fish of the Texas Hill Country. 345 Clay Young Road, Burnet,TX78611

Hoover’s Valley Cafe: Blue Truck Ranch’s address may be Burnet, but we are located specifically in the area of Burnet called Hoover’s Valley. And for a good, yummy meal, Hoover’s Valley Cafe is just a half mile south from our front gate. Trailblazers: This is our family’s favorite place to eat. From soups and salads, to down-home entrees and yummy desserts, we usually save one evening for a meal and live music entertainment. River City Grille: Situated overlooking the water, get a table outside if the weather is nice. We have eaten our way through this menu and find it all excellent!
